AUTHOR’S BIO:

G.Karthik Raja, born on 29.1.1998 in Tamil Nadu, India, is a short filmmaker and has made several short films including ‘The Ingredient book’ which is one of his notable works. Being just 16 years old, he accomplished writing his first book (The Strange Hiriak) which was a regional hit. Team Deteqto is his second book series which spans a total of fifteen volumes making it a bigger achievement. He is on Facebook in the name of Karthik Raja Gnanasekar and his Email Id is gkarthikraja1998@gmail.com.  

1. Who and what inspired you to write?

I used to read lots of adventure novels in my childhood which inspired me to write my own adventure.

2. What challenges did you face while writing and getting published?

Writing this series was really tough as I had to balance my college life with my writing life. But luckily I had The Book Bakers to help me publish all the seven books with ease.

3.  How did you come to know about the literary agency THE BOOK  BAKERS?  

I was contacted by Mr. Suhail Mathur after he read my newspaper interview that I had posted on Facebook. That’s when I came to know about them.

4. How did THE BOOK BAKERS help you and what would you like to say about them?

They did a great job in finding the publisher for me and also helped with the character illustrations, editing of the book as well as other important features. It was good working with them.

5. How do you see literary success for yourself?

It’s a big deal. I have my own ideas for what success is. It’s how people respond after reading your book and it’s definitely not about the sales of the book.

6. When can we expect your next book?

This series has another eight books to complete its story arc. Hope it comes out as a box set around summer next year.

7. Any message or tips for aspiring authors?

It’s always nice to see people younger than myself writing books. I have read about kids who are not even teenagers yet were able to publish a book on their own. Writing is a big journey, so never give up as long as you achieve your dreams.
